Because of all the requests and feedback I’ve received from my last article on this lovely hotel, I returned to visit her again. I found it to be as lovely in May as it was in October!

The legendary 5 star hotel, The Ambasciatori Palace, is also famous for being an historical hotel. It magically exudes a rare charm, old-world elegance and class.

It is located on one of Rome's finest and most exclusive streets along the Via Veneto. It is centrally situated near all of the famous Roman points of interest, which is the best part for me.

I love how chic this hotel is without being pretentious or stuffy. It is graceful and stylish yet comfortable, inviting and warm. The décor is striking and exquisite with a time-honored style.

The hotel is updating its rooms to be even more modern and up to the minute with its amenities, yet still keeping its charm and elegance. The staff however, is as warm, friendly and informative as always.

The breakfast, that I urge you to include in your stay, is the perfect start for your Roman adventure.

Do save an evening to dine at the Palaces main dining room and feast on the typical and delectable Roman dishes with beautifully artistic presentations. I would like to pay tribute to artistic chef, Mario Falco, for being on the cutting edge of the culinary arts…

The front desk staff jumped to all my needs and wants. My wishes were granted effortlessly with a smile. The concierge was a bevy of information and assistance from reservations suggestions and directions etc.

My room was cozy, lovely and clean. It included everything I could possibly need or wanted. This was truly my home away from home in Roma!

Not only does the Ambasciatori Hotel have a hospitable and friendly atmosphere, but if you ask me has the best location in the entire city of Rome. It is perfectly situated in the heart of all the major attractions.

Here you are accessible to either walk or taxi about the city.

From the lovely Ambasciatori Hotel, I was able to enjoy a laid-back walk to the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain (Don't forget to throw into the fountain three coins over your left shoulder), the Forum, St Peter's Basilica, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona and the Barberini Metro Station. I took a short cab ride to the Vatican and its Museum, the Colosseum (do go inside) and the Roman ruins. You must visit the Castel Sant' Angelo near the Vatican, where you will see the most awesome panoramic views of Rome, simply spectacular and one of my favorite places in the city. I urge you to visit all of these awe-inspiring, historical sites.

You can tour the city with professional tour guides or navigate for yourself. If you do this, I advise that you jump on the little red hop on hope off bus or the GLT (Green Line Tours) hop on hop off panoramic tour buses. They have ear phones in all languages that describe all the important stops in the city.

When in Rome… do visit one of my favorite restaurants in the city, LOCANDA  BARBERINI Ristorante Pizzeria.

As far as I am concerned, it is without a doubt the finest and most authentic Italian food in Rome. This restaurant is quaint, traditional, with great prices and a friendly staff.

I suggest the eggplant parmesan, the spaghetti with claims and the cabonara with truffles… YUM…

The two owners care so very much to make sure everything they do, cook and serve is restaurant perfection including the wine. A Rome must!

 As I walked about the city, I fortunately stumbled on a Roman diamond. The Teatro Salone Margherita, which is an Opera house near the Spanish steps. The theatre is quite stunning and old world featuring great music and beautiful singing.   

The theatre presents many spectacular concerts and operas, However, I saw the Opera Gran Gala which was more than spectacular. The four opera singers, Sabrina Testa, Carmela Maffongelli, Carlo Napoletani and Daniele Penco were breathtaking and overflowed with talent.

For 2 glorious hours, these Roman stars performed famous songs from the most beloved world of the opera. The orchestra was brilliant as well which consisted of 3 violins, a harp, French horn, bass and cello, flute, clarinet, which sounded like 50 pieces. 

During intermission, they set up a table and served (included in the price), the entire audience freshly made and delicious pasta. This could only happen in Rome. Do not miss this event in the eternal city. It will be a forever memory. 

The show "Opera Gala" is a musical journey that brings memorable overtures, arias and enchanting astounding duets. This production was so very professional and included many sets, lighting and extravagant costumes. For a wonderful evening in Roma, don’t miss this musical experience.    STELLAR…BRAVA…BRAVO… BRAVEE…
