AAAAH  ROMA...As I entererd the doors of the well deserved 5 Star Ambasciatori Palace, I realized that I stepped into the old-world charm of style and elegance. This historical hotel was built in the 1900's and has been recognized as one of Rome's most lavish hotels. Renowned for its many famous and prominent guests, from movie stars to ambassadors and diplomats of different nations, I could immediately understand why they love this grand hotel, just by looking around. The décor is striking yet traditional, with its chic glass doors, splendid golden marble staircase, Brazilian granite columns, mosaic floors and ornate arches. The walls decorated with paintings that span different Italian periods (which add to its authentic feel), traditional furniture, antique marble, prestigious restaurants, and the exquisite rooms, simply all come together in concert making the Ambasciatori Palace a legend in hotel excellence, splendor and standards.

The staff is very professional, uniquely polite, delivering first class, brilliant service. They fell over themselves trying to assist me with advice, answering my questions and my various needs.

I was delighted that the hotel is located on one of Rome's best and most exclusive streets along the Via Veneto. It is situated opposite the US Embassy, near Villa Borghese Park (and the Museum) and just a short walk to most of Rome's major attractions and sights. The Hard Rock Cafe is just downstairs for you Hard Rock food fans and collectors.

From the classy Ambasciatori Hotel, I was able to enjoy a laid-back walk to the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain (Don't forget to throw into the fountain three coins over your left shoulder), the Forum, St Peter's Basilica, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona and the Barberini Metro Station. I took a short cab ride to the Vatican and its Museum, the Colosseum (do go inside) and the Roman ruins. I urge you to visit all of these awe-inspiring, historical sites. A word of advice, do make a stop at the Castel Sant' Angelo near the Vatican, where you will see the most awesome views of Rome, simply spectacular and one of my favorite places in the city.

I loved the fact that right outside the hotel doors, I was able to stroll around a variety of boutiques, restaurants and cafés (I am sure I had a cappuccino and a dolce in every one of these cafes...After all a girl needs to keep here energy up to sight see and shop!). It was entertaining to leisurely wander about the nearby main shopping streets, Via Condotti and Via del Corso.

The hotel has a handsome American lounge with a nightly piano bar, where I enjoyed sitting and relaxing with cocktail most evenings after a long invigorating day of sightseeing and shopping in the electric city of Rome; not to mention consuming too much pasta and gelato...

Furthermore, there is a congress centre with 10 large meeting rooms that can host 10 to 200 people, a fitness room with cardio-fitness equipment, complimentary Wi-Fi and international newspapers in public areas and an internet point in the lobby.

The Ambasciatori Palace Hotel presented me the luxury, comfort and sophisticated atmosphere I usually look for in a hotel. My room, as well as all of the ones that I visited, were very spacious (Especially for Europe, but a norm in the Royal Group Hotels & Resorts), featuring traditional antique furniture with significant details and Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel. My room was comfortable and complete with the much needed well-thought of amenities, high-speed internet, air conditioning, PC access, radio, telephone with direct external lines, mini-bar, electronic safe, private baths with luxuriant tubs as well as signature toiletries, robes and slippers. The bed and bedding was quite comfortable. I must also, note, that in Europe the air conditioning is never cold enough for me, but here it was superb. I felt completely at ease and wanted for nothing.

One of the main attractions of the Ambasciatori Palace hotel is the celebrated restaurant "La Terrazza," overlooking Via Veneto (that opens onto a large terrace) and historically has been one of Rome's top restaurants, selected by a gourmet clientele since the 1920s. The Royal Breakfast is nothing short of miraculous and a stunning vision to behold! This is where I enjoyed and possibly devoured each morning, a fresh and luscious breakfast experience with a huge selection to choose from! I could opt for freshly squeezed juices, bio drinks, yogurt smoothies, variety of jams and marmalades, a large array of oven baked products like muffins, plum cakes, breads, bagels and let's not forget the Danish pastries and croissants. For the more hearty foodies, there are cold cuts, mature cheese, chef's omelet's, fried and scrambled eggs, hash brown potatoes, bacon and sausages, vegetarian, vegan and gluten free products and choice of cafes. It was incredible and should have made me skip lunch, but in Rome there was no chance of that happening!

For lunch and dinner, this intimate and chic restaurant has become a memorable dining event. The superior and creative menu with Italian and international specialties is highly well-known by lovers of fine food from all over the globe. My praise goes out to artistic chef, Mario Falco, who is not only brilliant but on the cutting edge of the culinary arts. It was a privilege to enjoy his creations. His food is beyond extraordinary; its delicious, creative and picture perfect as well. With the help of the most charming Maitre d' ever, Stefano Pinzo, all of my meals and service at the hotel was stellar! He guided me to order the lobster and cherry tomatoes linguine to start and it was sinfully luscious. Then I went onto the entrée, a mixed grilled meat platter with a variety of vegetables which was succulent, moist and delectable. The seasonal fruit platter was purely put, food art. Thank you Stefano and Mario for luminous dining moments...

I thoroughly loved every minute of my stay at the Ambasciatori Palace Hotel. It is truly one of the best hotels in Rome.I felt completely at home and quite pampered. Everyone tried so hard to please me and to ensure a wonderful hotel experience. I think it is an ideal choice for both business and leisure travelers. It was a great bonus that everything I wanted in Rome was just right outside the hotel doors. I give the Palace rave reviews...Exceptional!
