To enjoy the beauty of one of the most incredible gulfs in the world, the Royal Continental Hotel in Naples (one of the stars of the Royal Group Hotels & Resorts), is the ultimate setting for your stay in this effervescent city. The hotel is situated directly in front of the seafront promenade facing the famous Castel Dell'Ovo, the former island of Megaride and now a peninsula on the gulf on Naples.

Whether you are on vacation, a business trip or even a honeymoon, this grand hotel will assist you with all your needs and desires with style and grace. I was without a doubt, well taken care of on every possible level. Everyone at the hotel was welcoming, warm, hospitable and all done with a smile and a romantic Italian accent! A  bonus... 

The 4 star Royal Continental Hotel, offers dazzling, breathtaking views of Naples' Gulf and Mount Vesuvius making it hard at times to ever leave my balcony.

    

With the hustle and bustle of the electrifying city of Naples, this unique boutique hotel grants a "home-like", down to earth feeling, thanks to the attention to detail and the art of hospitality provided by the eager to please, friendly and efficient staff. The rich décor of the lobby, as well as the rooms are comfortable, attractive and inviting. 

It was truly an amazing treat to just walk around the seashore promenade at night, enjoying some pasta, vino, and of course, the legendary Italian gelato. Later, I happily returned to my beautiful room where I sat on the veranda and simply enjoyed the memorable view.

     

Staying at the Royal Continental, you will want to visit the historical area of Naples, the Piazza del Plebiscito, the famous Teatro San Carlo and the harbor, which leads to the Amalfi and Sorrento coasts, as well as to the islands of Capri and Ischia. This is such a beautiful part of Italy and the world for that matter!

There are three fabulous restaurants at the hotel specializing in traditional local cuisine, Mediterranean cuisine and "Ethnic Itineraries." I personally think this area of Italy has the best food anywhere. In addition, I had some pleasant conversations and happy moments in the Lounge Bar, which is a central part of the public area. I was also, able to see the Congress Centre, which offers 17 meeting rooms with an auditorium that can hold up to 530 people, 12 business rooms, and an exhibition area. It is quite impressive.

The hotel also provides, free Wi-Fi in public areas, a sea-water pool, the hotel bar, a panoramic fitness centre and an underground garage for 120 cars. In addition, there are 2 rooms for beauty treatments and massages on request (I, of course, requested and enjoyed every second), concierge services, baby-sitting service, laundry service as well as disabled access.

      

The hotel offers 397 rooms comprising of: the Classic, Superior and Executive rooms, Junior Suites, Suites and a Presidential Suite, most with balconies and terraces overlooking the beautiful Gulf of Naples. This is where I enjoyed the captivating sea view on all sides and my personal happy place at the hotel.

     

All rooms and suites have either, double or twin beds, air conditioning, wardrobe with safe, mini bar, LCD TV, satellite channels, film on demand, broad-band and Wi-Fi internet connection, exclusive Marinella amenities, a lighted magnifying mirror  and marble bathrooms... The rooms are clean, and met all of my needs, and I have many! The beds were quite firm yet comfortable. The décor is attractive, relaxed and smart.

Overlooking the sea, the living room with a balcony and a bedroom equipped with two panoramic balconies.

Presidential Suite: 

The hotel offers two presidential suites: one with 4 balconies and the other consisting of two elegant spaces and decorated with antique furniture, marble and wooden flooring and 2 bathrooms lined with marble (one is equipped with a Jacuzzi). There was a restful & relaxing atmosphere in an elegant setting with gorgeous views of the gulf of Naples and its nearby islands.

          

OUTDOOR SWIMMING POOL:

When I had a moments rest from sightseeing (As there is much to see in Naples), I must say, I completely enjoyed the gorgeous sea-water pool, solarium and pool bar on the panoramic 10th floor. The natural seawater somehow felt therapeutic and rejuvenating. It was one of the highlights of my stay.

AL CASTELLO RESTAURANT:

The 600 seat, sea view restaurant, is known as one of the top restaurants in all of Naples, and I for one agree. The service is top notch and the food from breakfast to dinner is out of this world. Motivated by the architect Gio Ponti, the stylish restaurant in the Royal Continental Hotel is wonderful for all day dining, gala dinners, banquets and weddings. The fresh and abundant flavors of the sea are the driving force for the chef and are proficiently paired with the best and most full-bodied, delicious local wines. There are also, menus available for vegetarian guests. The dinners were incredible. All of the food choices that I enjoyed were amazing in flavor, texture, creativity and appearance. Bravo to the chef. Furthermore, I had trouble sleeping all night because I could hardly wait for morning to energetically dive into the incredible buffet breakfasts with so many choices.

  

 

What I found particularly wonderful about the Hotel Royal Continental, is that they are in collaboration with AIC, and part of an outdoor feeding project that offers feeding services for celiac people. Giving back to the community, I love it!

 

 The fitness room:

Offers yet another dazzling panoramic view, with a solarium. This room is open an amazing 24 hours, which is my pet peeve as most hotels close around 10:00. This is a room in the hotel you will most definitely need if you did as I did, over-eat ALOT and loving it!

Additionally, the hotel offers an underground, guarded parking garage with up to 120 places and with 24 hour.

Landmarks close by are: Castel dell'OVO, Piazza del Plebiscito, Real Teatro di San Carlo, Piazza Vittoria , Piazza dei Martiri (shopping center), Naples Archaeological Museum (MANN), Reggia Di Capodimonte, Castel Nuovo, Via Toledo (shopping street), and Via San Gregorio Armeno. There are so many sights to see in Napoli. I suggest renting a Vespa and having the time of your life... What is the best, however, is after such a long day of sightseeing, shopping and eating, you can go back to this awesome hotel and just relax with a great glass of Italian Vino!

          

If anyone is wondering if the Italians still hang their clothes outside the windows like in the movies, the answer is yes!  A word to the wise, when you do stay at the brilliant Royal Continental Hotel (and I completely recommend that you do), don't forget to have the best pizza in the world only in Naples.  Any restaurant you go to will be outstanding for pizza. It's like no other pizza you have ever had anywhere.

         

When in Naples, you must visit the island of Capri for the day, or you could stay at the, 'A PAZZIELLA HOTELa wonderful 4 star hotel in Capri, which is part of the same hotel group, the Royal Group Hotels & Resorts. Capri is quite beautiful and should not be missed. I also, suggest, taking a drive up the awe-inspiring Amalfi Coast to Positano! It is a vision and an experience I will never forget...

       

I have written articles all over Italy and I must clear something up. I have heard that Naples is a dirty and dangerous city that one should stay away from. I bring this up to tell you first hand, it is not at all and could not be further from the truth. It is an amazing, fascinating, lively, beautiful and fun city with the best food and one of the best hotels I have ever experienced. I never felt uncomfortable for a second and I even walked the streets at night alone. Being in Napoli was a wonderful experience and a marvelous travel destination and I look forward to returning again one day.

      

In my opinion, The Royal Continental Hotel in Naples is a shining star. It captures the vibrancy and excitement that defines Napoli. I was utterly pleased with my stay and treated glowingly from everyone of the staff. The amenities, the rooms, the food and basically everything in every way is, a hotel treat. Bravo!
