The legendary Pointer Sisters (Ruth, Anita, and Ruth’s granddaughter Sadako) appeared in their full glory and talent at the fabulous Cannery Hotel in Las Vegas, Sat. Sept 12. The crowd at the Cannery’s awesome showroom was mesmerized and thrilled to be among the lucky who had the chance to see and hear the golden voices and mega hits performed by these legendary women in person. They were absolutely rockin’ and in perfect vocal form as all three ladies ran around the stage dancing, singing, and performing their hearts out. The Pointer sisters proved once again that legends never die….. Legends just continue to rock on!

Some of the songs the ladies performed were: The HAPPINESS, HE’S SO SHY, AUTOMATIC, FAIRYTALE, SLOW HAND, CHAIN OF FOOLS, YES WE CAN,  DARE ME, BAND INTRODUCTIONS, FIRE, I’M SO EXCITED, NEUTRON DANCE, and JUMP.

There is something quite special about hearing songs so famous and timeless sung by the original singers live in concert. Many times I have been disappointed in the past as live performances somehow don’t always capture the sounds of perfection that a group can achieve in a recording studio. Not the case here, as the Pointer Sisters nailed hit after hit.

Believe me, the audience knew and appreciated that fact too. The magnetic and contagious energy and force that the women gave off went right into the hearts and souls of their audience. Hence, nothing kept the crowd sitting in their seats. For most of the concert the fans were standing up, singing and dancing right along with the Pointer sisters. They just couldn’t sit, for the sounds of the music swept them up. This concert experience will no doubt never be forgotten by anyone present.

The Pointer Sisters concert and their hits are amazing and exciting for all ages to enjoy!

An American Pop/R&B recording act from Oakland, California, The Pointer Sisters achieved mainstream success during the 1970s and 1980s which made them famous and constantly kept them on the top of the charts during that era. Spanning decades together, their music has included such diverse genres as pop music, disco, jazz, bebop, blues, soul, funk, dance, new wave, and rock. They truly did it all with perfection! The singing group debuted in 1973 with their self-titled album and achieved early success with such hits as “He’s So Shy,” “Slow Hand”, and the cover of Bruce Springsteen’s “Fire.” Their 1983 album, Break Out, was certified triple-platinum, making it the largest selling album of the Pointer Sisters’ career. In 1984, the Pointer Sisters released four Billboard top 10 singles in a row with “Automatic,” “Jump (For My Love),” “I’m So Excited” and, from the Beverly Hills Cop soundtrack, “Neutron Dance.” The triumph of the album earned the sisters two Grammy Awards and two American Music Awards.  You go girls and please….Never stop rockin!!!!
